"Skate and Scoop to Slap Out Hunger"

In celebration of July Ice Cream Month, The Phoenix Coyotes, Arizona Milk Producers and AFRA hosted a fundraiser on Saturday, July 15th at the Desert Schools Coyotes Ice Center in Peoria. More than 700 people poured in for a fun-filled afternoon of free ice skating and all the cream they could eat from some of their favorite vendors like Dryers Grand Ice Cream, Fat Boy Premium Ice Cream, Shamrock Farms, and Blue Bell.

Fans also had the opportunity to meet Phoenix Coyotes forward Josh Gratton, who was on hand to sign autographed for all guests.

Plus, all in attendance were able to skate the ice rink with the Phoenix Coyotes' beloved mascot, "Howler", the Arizona Milk Producers' mascot, "Daisy", and AFRA's, "Perry the Penguin". All in attendance made a $5 donation or two can goods per person for entry. All proceeds from the event went towards the Coyotes Charities/ Slap Out Hunger organization to benefit The St. Mary's / Westside Food Bank Alliance. Skate rental is not included.
