GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Phoenix Coyotes will host the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday in their NHL season opener at Arena in Glendale where all fans in attendance will receive an Olli Jokinen bobblehead. Led by Coyotes Captain Shane Doan, the Coyotes, who have won their last four home openers, are looking to make it five.

Opening Night will begin on the Westgate Plaza in front of Arena at 6 p.m. with performances by K & K Elite Cheer & Dance. Full player and coaching staff introductions will be made at the beginning of the game, followed by a ceremonial puck drop by Ryan Job of Sentinels of Freedom. Former Jefferson Starship guitarist Craig Chaquico will perform the National Anthem.

Coyotes Charities are returning with “Mystery Pucks” that will be available for purchase at the Coyotes Community Corner near the Coyotes Den team store. Each wrapped puck is signed by a Coyotes player with a select number containing a special pink-colored signature to help raise awareness of breast cancer. Fans who pick a pink-signed puck will also receive an additional autographed prize. Mystery Pucks will be sold for $20 with proceeds supporting the 2008 Breast Cancer 3-Day benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Fans can also stop by Howler’s Kids Club Zone near Section 206 where kids can sign up for the coolest club in town and the Pierre in ’08 Campaign Headquarters located at Gate 4 to receive pins, magnets and cheer cards to support Pierre’s run for the White House.

A post-game party on the plaza will feature a performance by the band Bomber.

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s opening night starting at just $15. For fans looking to maximize their 2008-09 hockey experience, the team offers a variety of full and partial season ticket packages starting at only $9 a game.
