GLENDALE, ARIZONA – PGA Tour golfer Jeff Quinney, who is sponsored by the Phoenix Coyotes and Swift Transportation Co., Inc., enters the final round of play today at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. trailing leader Phil Mickelson by one shot.

The final round coverage can be seen live on CBS at 1 p.m. MST.

Quinney, who is in his second season on the PGA Tour and won the 2000 U.S. Amateur Championship, will wear a shirt featuring the Coyotes’ logo during Tour events in 2008.  His shirt will display the Swift Transportation logo at select Tour stops throughout the season.  The unique deal between Quinney, a graduate of Arizona State University, and the Coyotes is believed to be the first of its kind.

The 29-year-old Quinney has competed in 50 career PGA events and has five Top10 finishes to his credit.  In 2007, Quinney recorded over $1.5 million in earnings during his rookie campaign.  He also posted four consecutive Top 10 finishes from Jan. 21 to Feb. 18, including a 3rd place finish at the 2007 FBR Open in Scottsdale.

Quinney’s outstanding amateur career began at Arizona State, where he was a two-time NCAA All-American.  In addition to winning the 2000 U.S. Amateur Championship, where he added his name to a list of past winners that includes Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, Quinney also played in the 2000 Masters, the 2001 U.S. Open and the 2001 British Open as an amateur.

Following the completion of his collegiate career, Quinney joined the Canadian Tour and finished No.2 on the Canadian Order of Merit in 2002. He played on the Nationwide Tour from 2004-2006 before earning his PGA Tour card for the 2007 season.

Quinney, a native of Eugene, Oregon, was recently named as one of the PGA Tour’s “Top 20 in their 20s.”
