GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Arizona Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have signed goaltender David Tendeck to a three-year entry-level contract. As per Club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The 20-year-old Tendeck went 18-13-1-1 with three shutouts, a .920 save percentage (SV%) and 2.29 goals against average (GAA) in 35 games with the Vancouver Giants (WHL) in 2019-20. His 2.29 GAA was the fifth-lowest mark in the WHL.
The 6-foot-2, 181-pound native of North Vancouver, BC has posted a career record of 72-54-6-4 with 10 shutouts, a .905 SV% and 2.96 GAA in 145 games with Vancouver. Last year, Tendeck went 11-3-2 with a .918 SV% and a 2.38 GAA through 17 playoff games to help the Giants reach Game 7 of the 2019 Rogers WHL Championship series.
He was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the sixth round (158th overall) in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
