Coyotes Sign Peters to One-Year Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have signed goaltender Justin Peters to a one-year, two-way contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 29-year-old Peters registered a 17-8-7 record with a 3.04 goals against average (GAA) and an .896 save percentage (SV%) in 37 games with the Hershey Bears (AHL) last season. He also posted a 2.13 GAA and a .922 SV% in 20 postseason games with the Bears.

The 6-foot-1, 209-pound native of Blyth, Ont. owns a 25-37-9 record with a 3.08 GAA and a .901 SV% in 80 career NHL games with the Washington Capitals and the Carolina Hurricanes.

Peters was originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the second round (38th overall) in the 2004 Entry Draft.
