GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Liam O'Brien to a two-year contract extension. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to sign Liam to a two-year contract extension," said Armstrong. "Liam is a hard-working player with great character who is always there to support his teammates. He has provided our team with some added toughness and is very deserving of this contract."
The 27-year-old O'Brien has recorded 2-1-3 with an NHL-leading 106 penalty minutes (PIM) in 37 games with the Coyotes this season.
The 6-foot-1, 213-pound forward has already established NHL career highs for games played in a season, goals, points (tied), PIM and shots (33). He ranks second on the team with 131 hits.
The Halifax, NS native has totaled 3-5-8 with 174 PIM in 66 career NHL games with the Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche and Washington Capitals.
O'Brien signed a one-year contract with Arizona on July 28, 2021.
