“David, a former 20-goal scorer, is a big, versatile player who will provide secondary scoring and back-up depth at our center position,” said Maloney. “Our Associate Coach, Jim Playfair, coached David in Calgary and believes he will be an excellent addition for us. We are pleased to add him to our roster.”

The 6-foot-4, 207 pound Moss recorded 2-7-9 and 12 penalty minutes (PIM) in 32 games with Calgary in an injury-shortened 2011-12 season.

The 30-year-old native of Livonia, Michigan has spent his entire career with the Flames organization, recording 61-63-124 and 94 PIM in 317 regular season games. He posted career highs in goals (20), assists (19) and points (39) during the 2008-09 season. In 17 career postseason games, Moss has registered 4-2-6.

Internationally, Moss appeared in six games with Team USA at the 2010 IIHF World Championship, recording 1-2-3. In 162 career NCAA games with Michigan (CCHA), Moss produced 36-58-94 and 91 PIM.

Moss was selected by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round (220th overall) in the 2001 Entry Draft.
