GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have signed defensemen Jamie McBain and Jarred Tinordi, along with forward Garret Ross to one-year, two-way contracts. As per club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
The 28-year-old McBain recorded 2-7-9, a plus-two rating and six penalty minutes (PIM) in 44 games with the Los Angeles Kings last season. The 6-foot-1, 193-pound native of Edina, MN has collected 30-80-110 and 72 PIM in 345 career NHL games with the Kings, Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes. McBain was originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the second round (63rd overall) in the 2006 Entry Draft.
The 24-year-old Ross posted 7-13-20 and 109 PIM in 65 games with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) in 2015-16. The 6-foot, 176-pound native of Dearborn Heights, MI has collected 43-54-97 and 292 PIM in 210 career AHL games. Ross was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fifth round (139th overall) in the 2012 Entry Draft.
The 24-year-old Tinordi played in seven games with the Coyotes last season and has recorded 0-6-6 with 78 PIM in 53 career NHL games with the Montreal Canadiens and Coyotes. The Burnsville, MN native was originally drafted in the first round (22nd overall) by the Canadiens in the 2010 Entry Draft.
