SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA -Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have signed defenseman Maveric Lamoureux to a three-year entry-level contract. Lamoureux was drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (29th overall) in the 2022 NHL Draft. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to sign Maveric to an entry-level contract," said Armstrong. "He is a big, strong, physical defenseman who is a very good skater and has a good shot. We look forward to watching his development this season."
The 18-year-old Lamoureux registered 4-20-24 with 69 penalty minutes (PIM) in 54 games with the Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL) in 2021-22. He added 0-1-1 with four PIM in four playoff games last season.
The 6-foot-7, 195-pound Lamoureux ranked second among Drummondville blueliners in assists and points, while his 69 PIM led all skaters on the team.
The Hawkesbury, ON native has totaled 5-26-31 with 95 PIM in 78 games over two seasons with Drummondville (2020-22).
Lamoureux, who was ranked 20th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting prior to this year's NHL Draft, collected 2-6-8 with 16 PIM in 10 November games last season. He also more than tripled his assists and points totals from 2020-21 to 2021-22.
