GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have signed free agent defenseman Vladislav Provolnev to a one-year contract for the 2021-22 season. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to sign Vladislav," said Armstrong. "He is a big, strong defenseman who skates well and plays a physical style. He also has a good shot and can contribute offensively. He will be another good blueline prospect for us."
The 6-foot 3, 194-pound Provolnev has registered 10-10-20 with 50 penalty minutes (PIM) in 48 games with the Severstal Cherepovets in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) this season. His 10 goals were tied for the fifth-most among all KHL defenseman and his five (5) power-play goals were tied for the third-most among all KHL blueliners. Provolnev is also tied for first among all KHL defensemen with five (5) game-winning goals and has collected 87 hits which were the 11th highest among KHL defensemen.
The 25-year-old native of Voronezh, RU has recorded 20-29-49 with 255 PIM in 240 career games with Severstal and Spartak Moskva.
