COYOTES SET TEAM RECORD FOR MOST WINS IN A SEASON SINCE MOVING TO PHOENIX

Saturday, March 13, 2010 GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Phoenix Coyotes defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 4-0 tonight to win their 41st game of the season, marking their highest win total in a season since moving to Phoenix in 1996.
The previous record for wins in a season by a Coyotes team was 40, set in 2001-02 when the team finished with a record of 40-27-9-6. The Coyotes/Winnipeg Jets franchise record for wins in a season is 43, set by the Winnipeg Jets in 1984-85. Through 68 games this season, the Coyotes have compiled a record of 41-22-5.
Ilya Bryzgalov also recorded his NHL-leading eighth shutout of the season in tonight’s victory, tying him with Nikolai Khabibulin for most shutouts in a single season by a goaltender in franchise history. Khabibulin registered eight shutouts for the Coyotes during the 1998-99 campaign.
The Coyotes’ next game is tomorrow at 2 p.m. Arizona time as they travel to Atlanta to take on the Thrashers.
