On Saturday morning, the Phoenix Coyotes kicked off the start of their 2007 Rookie Camp at Desert Schools Coyotes Center in Peoria.

With 24 of the Coyotes’ top prospects in attendance, including six former first round draft picks, there was no shortage of talent as each player tried to demonstrate how much they’ve developed over the last year.

“Their (the players) attitude is really positive and they’re really excited to be here,” said Phoenix Coyotes Head Coach Wayne Gretzky.

Saturday’s practice featured a series of one-on-one battles, but perhaps none were as interesting as that of prospects’ Sean Sullivan and Benn Ferriero.

Sullivan, a native of Braintree, Massachusetts and former captain of the Boston University Men’s Ice Hockey team faced a familiar opponent in Ferriero, an Essex, Massachusetts native who just completed his sophomore year at Boston College and helped lead the Eagles to the 2007 NCAA Championship Game.

After two seasons of facing each other, in what is largely regarded as the best rivalry in college hockey, Sullivan and Ferriero took to the ice for the first time as teammates.  After practice, Host Matt Rosen caught with Sullivan and Ferriero and found out just how intense this rivalry is.  Watch the video now: 300K / 700K
