Coyotes Recall Summers from AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Chris Summers from the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 6-foot-2, 209 pound Summers has appeared in 26 games with the Pirates this season, collecting two assists and 35 penalty minutes (PIM). The 23-year-old native of Ann Arbor, Michigan has also played in four games with the Coyotes. This is his fourth recall of the season.

In 2010-11, Summers recorded 1-9-10 and 54 PIM in 75 games with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL). He also appeared in two games with the Coyotes last season, collecting four PIM.

Summers was drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (29th overall) in the 2006 Entry Draft.
