Coyotes Recall Rieder from AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Tobias Rieder (pronounced reed-er) from the Portland Pirates, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 21-year-old native of Landshut, Germany has recorded 4-2-6 with a plus-two rating in nine games with the Pirates this season. He leads the team in goals and ranks third in points at the time of his recall. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Rieder totaled 28-20-48 and 10 penalty minutes (PIM) with Portland in 2013-14.

Rieder was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round (114th overall) in the 2011 Entry Draft.
