Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced that the Coyotes have recalled center Patrick Fischer from the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

Fischer, 31, has registered an assist and 6 penalty minutes (PIM) in 4 games with San Antonio. Fischer has also collected 4-5-9 and 12 penalty minutes in 21 games with the Coyotes this season. The native of Zug, Switzerland scored his first NHL goal on Oct. 28, 2006 versus the New York Rangers. He recently missed 13 games from Dec. 14 - Jan. 11 with a groin injury.

The Coyotes signed Fischer as a free agent on May 5, 2006. The 5-foot-11, 194-pound center previously registered 176-263-439 in 534 games over 14 seasons in the Swiss Elite League. Fischer also represented Switzerland at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics as well as in 7 World Championships.

Fischer will be available for the Coyotes' game versus the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center on Friday. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
