Coyotes Recall Montoya from AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled goaltender Al Montoya from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL). Montoya will accompany the Coyotes on their trip to Prague, Czech Republic and will be available as a third goaltender for the team.

The 6-foot-2, 198 pound Montoya played 14 games for the Rampage last season, posting a 4-7-1 record with a 2.65 goals against average (GAA) and a .904 save percentage.

The Coyotes will depart for Prague, Czech Republic tomorrow (Sunday) and will play their final preseason game against Dinamo Riga (KHL) on Wednesday, Oct. 6 in Riga, Lativa. The team will open the regular season by playing two games against the Boston Bruins at O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, on Saturday, Oct. 9 and Sunday, Oct. 10 as part of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere before returning home to host the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. at Arena.
