Coyotes Recall Miele from AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled center Andy Miele from the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 5-foot-9, 180 pound Miele has appeared in 24 games with the Pirates this season, leading the team in scoring with 8-15-23. The Grosse Pointe Woods, MI native was named the AHL’s Rookie of the Month for November, registering 4-9-13 in 10 games. He is currently sixth overall among AHL rookie scoring leaders.

This will be the second recall of the season for Miele, who made his NHL debut on Oct. 23 at Anaheim. In five games with the Coyotes this season, he has collected four penalty minutes (PIM).

Miele was signed as an undrafted free agent on April 2, 2011.
