Coyotes Recall McKenna, Assign Domingue to AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled goaltender Mike McKenna and assigned goaltender Louis Domingue to the Portland Pirates, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).


The 31-year-old McKenna has registered an 18-14-2 record with a 2.09 goals against average (GAA) and a .933 save percentage (SV%) in 35 games with the Pirates this season. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound native of St. Louis, Missouri is 5-10-2 with a 3.40 GAA and a .891 SV% in 21 career NHL games. McKenna was originally drafted by the Nashville Predators in the sixth round (172nd overall) in the 2002 Entry Draft.

The 22-year-old Domingue has posted a 1-0-0 record with a 3.08 GAA and a .871 SV% in two games with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of St-Hyacinthe, Quebec recorded 18 saves in his first career NHL start and win at Montreal on Feb. 1. Domingue has also registered an 8-4-1 record with a 2.40 GAA and a .922 SV% in 13 games with Portland this season. He was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the fifth round (138th overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.
