GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have recalled goaltender David LeNeveu from the San Antonio Rampage - the Coyotes' top minor league affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
In 28 games with the Rampage since being assigned there on Dec. 15, LeNeveu has registered a 10-16-2 record, 2.92 goals against average (GAA), .921 save percentage (SV%) and 2 shutouts. The Fernie, British Columbia native ranks fifth in the entire AHL in save percentage and leads all Rampage goaltenders in games played and minutes.
In his rookie NHL season, LeNeveu began 2005-06 on the Coyotes' opening night roster and played in his first 9 NHL games, collecting a 2-5-2 record, 3.20 GAA and .885 SV%. The 22-year-old netminder was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the 2nd round (46th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
