COYOTES RECALL LUNDMARK FROM SAN ANTONIO
AND REASSIGN LEHOUX AND GAINEY
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have recalled center Jamie Lundmark from San Antonio - the Coyotes' top minor league affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL) - and reassigned center Yanick Lehoux (conditioning) and left wing Steve Gainey to San Antonio.
Lundmark played in 4 games with San Antonio since agreeing to a voluntary assignment for conditioning purposes on Nov. 2 and collected 1-2-3 and 2 penalty minutes (PIM). The 24-year-old forward has also played in 5 NHL games this season with the Coyotes and New York Rangers, collecting 1 goal and 6 penalty minutes (PIM). The Coyotes acquired Lundmark on Oct. 18 from the Rangers in exchange for center Jeff Taffe.
Lehoux, who will be joining the Rampage for a conditioning stint, has played in 3 games (1-0-1, 2 PIM) with the Coyotes since being claimed on waivers from Los Angeles on Nov. 5. Lehoux played in his first NHL game on Nov. 8 at Minnesota, scoring his first NHL goal on his first shift. This season, he has also played in 7 games (5-2-7 and 6 PIM) with Geneve-Servette and 4 games with Basel (0-2-2 and 4 PIM) both of the Swiss National League.
Gainey played in 5 games with the Coyotes after being recalled from San Antonio on Nov. 4 - the same day that he signed an NHL contract with the Coyotes. In 12 games with the Rampage this season, he recorded 6-6-12 and 10 PIM. At the time of his NHL recall, Gainey ranked tied for 14th in the entire AHL in scoring. He still leads all Rampage players in goals and points, and ranks tied for 1st on the club in assists.
The Coyotes return to the ice on Wednesday when they play host to the Colorado Avalanche at Glendale Arena. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast on KDKB (93.3 FM) and KDUS (1060 AM). For ticket information, please call (480) 563-PUCK.
