GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin to a one-year contract. As per Club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to sign Ilya to an extension," said Armstrong. "He is a big, tough, reliable defenseman who gives us a physical presence on our blue line. He is also a great teammate and we look forward to having him on our roster next season."
The 27-year-old Lyubushkin has registered 1-1-2 with six penalty minutes (PIM) in 31 games with the Coyotes in 2021. He scored his first career NHL goal on April 7th in Los Angeles. Lyubushkin also leads Arizona defensemen with 77 hits and has blocked 51 shots this season.
The 6-foot-2, 201-pound native of Moscow, RU has totaled 1-9-10 and 37 PIM in 123 career games with the Coyotes. Lyubushkin signed with Arizona as a free agent on May 23, 2018.
