GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes President and CEO Anthony LeBlanc issued the following statement today regarding the announcement that Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) has been selected as the new arena management group for Gila River Arena:
“On behalf of the entire Arizona Coyotes organization, I would like to congratulate AEG on being selected as the prospective new arena manager for Gila River Arena. AEG (Los Angeles Kings) and IceArizona (Arizona Coyotes) are proud partners in the National Hockey League. We have a strong relationship with AEG and we are very excited to work with them. AEG has a proven track record of managing successful venues. Our existing agreement indicates that the City of Glendale has the right to notify the Coyotes as of March 31 if they intend to replace the current arena manager and appoint a new arena manager as of July 1. We look forward to a seamless transition.
“We would also like to thank Spectra for the tremendous job they did managing Gila River Arena the past three years. While we understand and expect Spectra will be frustrated in the manner in which this transition occurred, as we share a similar frustration, we know they are a world class arena operator and will handle this transition with the utmost respect and class.”
