GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Arizona Coyotes announced today that in conjunction with the NHL and adidas, the club will introduce a new purple Reverse Retro alternate jersey for the 2020-21 NHL season. All 31 NHL teams will be rolling out new adidas Reverse Retro ADIZERO Authentic alternate jerseys this season - marking the first time in League history that all 31 teams have participated in a League-wide alternate jersey program. adidas worked closely with the NHL and each team to design a Reverse Retro jersey representing unique and historical moments in each club's history, while refreshing the color and design combination for an all-new presentation.

The Coyotes purple Reverse Retro alternate jersey, modelled after the club's green third jersey that was worn from 1999-2003, will be available to fans beginning on December 1 at the Coyotes Den with an exclusive presale opportunity launching online at ArizonaSportsShop.com starting today. The Coyotes will wear these jerseys for a select number of games this season. Dates will be revealed once the NHL schedule is announced.

"We are extremely excited to introduce our new purple Reverse Retro alternate jersey," said Coyotes President & CEO Xavier Gutierrez. "We are confident that our fans will love the cool changes to this classic jersey - especially the purple color that was inspired from our crescent moon logo. This is a great opportunity for us to grow our brand with a new unique and innovative jersey and connect with our Coyotes fans and our Coyotes fans in waiting."
The Coyotes introduced their first alternate green jersey and uniform on February 3, 1999. Coyotes players Keith Tkachuk, Jeremy Roenick and Teppo Numminen took part in the unveiling at Alice Cooperstown restaurant in Phoenix. A true expression of the American Southwest, this alternate jersey was first worn by Coyotes players in a game on February 6, 1999 versus the Chicago Blackhawks.
The large Peyote Coyote head from the Kachina logo served as the primary logo with the trim of the green jersey revealing a desert scene at night with two saguaro cacti in the foreground and the Coyote moon rising over the desert mountain landscape. A desert-dwelling nocturnal lizard known as the gecko decorated each shoulder. Matching socks and solid black pants finished the uniform.
As part of the Coyotes celebrating 25 years in the Valley this season, the club has unveiled two new logos that will be featured on the team's home and road jerseys for each game. In addition, the Coyotes will be bringing back the crescent moon logo from the team's inaugural season in the Valley. The crescent moon logo will be showcased at center ice for all home games at Gila River Arena. The Coyotes will also wear their black Kachina jerseys for 25 games at Gila River Arena during the 2020-21 NHL season. To commemorate the Coyotes Silver Anniversary, the numbers on the Kachina jerseys will be outlined in silver this season.
