COYOTES CAUSES INAUGURAL SEASON
October is Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Phoenix Coyotes President and COO Douglas Moss announced today the inaugural season of Coyotes Causes, a monthly program dedicated to partnerships among the Coyotes and various organizations to support community outreach initiatives from October through April.
Each month's initiatives will include a table with information about the cause at every Phoenix Coyotes' home game on the concourse at Section 116 at Glendale Arena. A different Coyotes' player will be a spokesperson for each month, and promote the awareness with community events throughout the month.
October's Coyotes Cause will be the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Phoenix Affiliate. The foundation will auction off an autographed Phoenix Coyotes jersey to benefit breast cancer awareness at every game in October.
Coyotes center Mike Comrie lost his mother to breast cancer and will be supporting the cause by being a spokesman for the awareness.
In addition, the Phoenix Coyotes will sponsor other numerous events throughout the month to create awareness for this cause. Members of the Coyotes organization will take part in the 'Komen Race for the Cure' run/walk which will take place October 8th in downtown Phoenix. Howler, the Coyotes mascot, and members of The Pack dance team will also be at the finish line to greet racers. Breast cancer survivors will also be on hand to drop the puck at the Coyotes home game on Thursday, October 19 against Los Angeles.
