GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Arizona Coyotes announced today that the club will increase seating capacity at Gila River Arena to approximately 50 percent for the club's remaining regular season home games in April and May, beginning with the Coyotes next home game on Saturday, April 17 versus the St. Louis Blues. The approved 8,500-seating capacity was determined in conjunction with the NHL and with the support of the City of Glendale, state officials and ASM Global (the operators of Gila River Arena). Under NHL seating capacity requirements, ASM Global received Ventilation Rate Certification for Gila River Arena from a certified Mechanical/HVAC Systems Engineering Firm. Due to NHL protocols regarding seating, the Coyotes will cap attendance at 7,900 for all home games.

"The health and safety of our fans, players, coaches, and staff has been our top priority all season long and we are excited to increase our seating capacity at Gila River Arena for our remaining home games in April and May," said Coyotes President & CEO Xavier A. Gutierrez. "Throughout this process, we have worked diligently with the City of Glendale, ASM Global, state and federal authorities, medical experts, and the NHL to ensure that we have a safe environment for our fans at Gila River Arena. We are confident that the innovative and tech-enabled services we have in place will continue to protect the health and safety of our incredible fans. We appreciate their tremendous support and look forward to creating a great home ice advantage for our players as we fight to secure a playoff position."
The Coyotes and Gila River Arena have put in place a series of initiatives to create a safe environment for all fans who attend games. A variety of safety measures include full digital ticketing, cashless transactions, pre-paid touchless parking, the installation of sanitizer stations throughout the venue, enhanced sanitation measures and additional food preparation protocols at all concessions, ingress, egress, fan flow circulation, and a no bag policy. All fans and arena employees will continue to be required to wear a mask when not actively eating or drinking and no smoking will be allowed inside on patios.
Gila River Arena is equipped with VenueShield, a comprehensive and best-in-class program that has been deployed at more than 325 facilities around the world. VenueShield provides the highest levels of safety, security, and consumer confidence, in alignment with approvals from local government officials and health care experts.
The Coyotes request that all fans attending home games at Gila River Arena use CLEAR's Health Pass app. The easy-to-use health screening app connects biometric data to information that could determine risk for COVID-19, including test results. The app automates a daily health-screening task to make it easier, quicker and "contactless," so fans and staff do not need to touch potentially risky digital menus to enter Gila River Arena. When arriving at Gila River Arena for a Coyotes game, fans will use the Health Pass screening through the Coyotes app, take a photo of their face to verify their identity, then answer a series of questions based on CDC guidelines about how they are feeling. They can then share those answers through a QR code, which a Guest Service Representative can scan. Healthy fans and staff will be allowed to enter the venue, while contagious fans or staff will be denied access.
The Coyotes also recently introduced a new mobile app in partnership with VenueNext that makes it easier for fans to access their mobile tickets and order food, beverages, and merchandise at Gila River Arena in a touchless manner. Fans can download the app for free in the App Store or Google Play store by searching for "AZ Coyotes". The Coyotes app will serve as a one stop shop for all things Coyotes including news, fan contests, 50/50 and more.
Coyotes Season Ticket Members have priority to purchase tickets based on their tenure. The Coyotes have created socially distanced seating pods so fans can enjoy the game in a safe environment. Due to physical distancing guidelines, the Coyotes cannot guarantee that season ticket members will be able to sit in their usual seats.
The Coyotes will continue to offer all-inclusive four (4) and six (6) person Mini Suites/Loges at Gila River Arena with the opportunity to expand to a larger capacity depending on the size of the suite. These suites are safe, secure, affordable, and ideal for small family/friend gatherings or to entertain and reward your best clients and employees. These private mini suites/loges are conveniently located on the arena's semi-private 1100/1200 suite levels and will provide guests with an exciting way to gather and watch all of the great Coyotes action this season.
