The Phoenix Coyotes partnered with the Phoenix Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation and LPGA golfer Cristie Kerr in celebration of all Breast Cancer survivors, Saturday night at Arena.

Breast Cancer Awareness Night – part of the Coyotes’ month long “Coyotes for a Cure” campaign – featured unique auction items, pink-themed merchandise and special “Pack in Pink” pictures that all helped raise money for Breast Cancer awareness.

Kerr, who annually raises thousands of dollars for Breast Cancer awareness through her “Birdies for Breast Cancer” campaign, helped tee off evening’s festivities when she received a special pink Coyotes jersey from forward Peter Mueller. The 2007 U.S. Women’s Open champion also performed the ceremonial puck drop and autographed one-of-a-kind pink Coyotes caps for fans during the first intermission.

Mueller served as the team’s spokesman for the night as Breast Cancer has impacted someone important within his life. A pink-ribbon Coyotes jersey autographed by Mueller and a basket of Mueller’s favorite things, including a post-game meet-and-greet with the Coyotes forward, were among the featured auction items that raised a combined $1,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

The most honored items of the night, however, went to the first 250 Breast Cancer survivors who stopped by the Coyotes Causes table on the main concourse outside section 116 to receive a long-stem pink rose.

The evening was the capstone on “Coyotes for a Cure,” which began on opening night with the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer program and included the organization’s participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
