Coyotes Hire Nairn as Senior Director of Media Relations

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Phoenix Coyotes announced today that the team has hired Richard Nairn as Senior Director of Media Relations.
Nairn served as the Winnipeg Jets Director of Media Relations from 1993 – 1996 and moved with the team to Phoenix to help launch the franchise in 1996. Nairn worked 11 years with the Coyotes organization overseeing all communications for the Club from 1996-2007.
Since leaving the Coyotes in 2007, Nairn worked at Newport Sports Management, the largest hockey agency in the world representing over 100 NHL players. While with NSM, he was responsible for all memorabilia and trading card agreements for NSM clients as well as securing new endorsement deals and promotional opportunities for NSM players.

Nairn will be responsible for promoting all aspects of the organization including its management, coaches and players; various marketing and corporate sales promotions; the team’s involvement in the community and charity efforts as well as the Jobing.com Arena. Nairn will continue to oversee all hockey related media relations and serve as the organization’s primary contact for all local and national media inquiries.
Nairn joined the Winnipeg Jets organization in 1993 after receiving his Master’s degree in communication from the University of North Dakota and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Manitoba.
Current Coyotes Director of Media Relations Sergey Kocharov has been hired in a similar role for the Washington Capitals.
