COYOTES GET IN, THEN WIN

GLENDALE -- The Coyotes, whom many hockey experts wrote off as also-rans before the season even started, clinched the franchise’s first berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs since 2001-02 on Saturday when the Boston Bruins beat the Calgary Flames early in the afternoon.

Later in the day, for good measure, the Coyotes went out and clobbered the Colorado Avalanche, 6-2, in front of a sellout crowd at Jobing.com Arena.
