GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The eighth annual Hockey Weekend Across America, presented by CCM, will be celebrated across the United States this weekend from Feb. 20-22. The national event is a three-day celebration of the sport of hockey at every level. The Arizona Coyotes are encouraging all fans to celebrate the great game of hockey this weekend.

As part of the celebration, the Arizona Coyotes are encouraging all Valley youth hockey players to wear their team jersey to the Coyotes game this Saturday, Feb. 21 versus the Tampa Bay Lightning. Kids ages 15 and under that wear their team jersey to the Coyotes game can purchase one game ticket at regular price and get a second ticket free of charge.

Each day of Hockey Weekend Across America has a theme to it with “Wear Your Favorite Jersey Day” on Friday, Feb. 20 (fans are encouraged to wear their favorite hockey jersey to school or work); “Try Hockey Day,” on Saturday, Feb. 21 with hundreds of programs across the United States hosting “Try Hockey For Free” clinics; and “Celebrate Local Hockey Heroes,” on Sunday, Feb. 22.

The Arizona Coyotes will help support local Valley rinks on “Try Hockey Day” Saturday by offering children ages 4 to 12 an opportunity to try hockey free of charge. The Coyotes will provide kids participating in the clinics with a complimentary Coyotes drawstring backpack. Three Valley rinks will hold free clinics this weekend; Arcadia Ice Arena from 1:20 – 2:20 p.m., Peoria from 3:45 – 4:45 p.m., and Oceanside from 4:55 – 5:55 p.m.

Equipment will be provided for children attending the “Try Hockey” clinics and no experience is required to participate.
