GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Phoenix Coyotes, in association with USA Hockey, are encouraging Arizona residents to participate in Hockey Weekend Across America, from Friday, Feb. 15 to Sunday, Feb. 17.
While USA Hockey is leading the Hockey Weekend Across America initiative, the Coyotes will put a local spin on each of the weekend’s events.
The event kicks off on Friday, Feb. 15 with “Wear Your Favorite Jersey to School Day.”  Students of all ages across Arizona are encouraged to wear their favorite hockey jersey to school.  Schools will be submitting group photos to and the five schools with the most students wearing hockey jerseys will win a block of Coyotes tickets to a future game.  Students will also be encouraged to wear their favorite hockey jersey to school by Coyotes players Keith Ballard, Peter Mueller, Mike York and Matt Jones, who have all been associated with USA Hockey at some point in their careers.  The players will send video messages to schools leading up to the event. 
Because USA Hockey also encompasses adult hockey leagues, the Coyotes are also promoting a “Wear Your Favorite Hockey Jersey to Work Day” on Feb. 15.  Companies are encouraged to submit photos of their staff in hockey jerseys to The group photos of companies will be featured on
Saturday, Feb. 16 has been designated by USA Hockey as “Bring a Friend to the Rink Day.”  The Coyotes will be offering discounted tickets to all USA Hockey members and their families for their 7:00 p.m. game versus the Los Angeles Kings at Arena that night as well as the Feb. 19 game at 7:30 p.m. versus the Calgary Flames.  USA Hockey members can order tickets by calling 623-772-3265.
In conjunction with USA Hockey’s “Celebrate Local Hockey Heroes Day” on Sunday, Feb. 17, the Coyotes will honor a group of local youth hockey volunteers, including coaches, scorekeepers and officials, during the first intermission of the Coyotes game against the Kings on Saturday.
