COYOTES CONTRIBUTING AT IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Coyotes forwards Shane Doan, Matthew Lombardi and Scottie Upshall have helped Canada start the 2009 International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Championship with a 3-0 record.


Canada has outscored opponents 22-4.

Among the Coyotes on Canada’s roster, Doan, the team captain, has notched the most points with a goal and two assists. Lombardi has chipped in two assists.

Meanhwile, Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov has earned two wins for Russia, which also has a 3-0 record after three games. Bryzgalov has stopped 57 of 59 shots on goal.

Other Coyotes on IIHF World Championship rosters are forward Mikkel Boedker (Denmark), goalie Al Montoya (U.S.) and defenseman Dmitri Kalinin (Russia).
