GLENDALE – Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored the game-winning goal on a power play with 2:28 left in the third period to lead the Coyotes to a 2-1 win over the San Jose Sharks on Friday night at Jobing.com Arena in Phoenix’s preseason finale.

Tied 1-1, San Jose's Scott Hannan was called for elbowing Max Domi behind the Sharks net at 16:41 of the third period. Ekman-Larsson scored his team-high third goal of the preseason 51 seconds later.

Radim Vrbata also scored a goal for Phoenix.

"It was a tight game," Vrbata said. "We need a game like that. It was good to win the last preseason game. We are in a good place."

Goalie Thomas Greiss made 25 saves against his former team.

"I think we looked really good and had a great game today and the last game was real solid, too," Greiss said. "We are headed in the right direction."

Defenseman David Rundblad chipped in two assists and finished the preseason with a team-high seven points.

The Coyotes, who finished the preseason with a 4-2-1 record, begin the 2013-14 regular season on Thursday at home vs. the New York Rangers.
