COYOTES AT THE WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Seven Coyotes prospects are participating at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship in Helsinki, Finland. They are: forwards Brendan Perlini and Dylan Strome for Canada; forwards Christian Dvorak and Ryan MacInnis for USA; and goalie Erik Kallgren and forwards Anton Karlsson and Jens Looke for Sweden.

GAMES PLAYED ON JAN. 2

USA 7, Czech Republic 0

Christian Dvorak scored USA’s second goal and Ryan MacInnis assisted on USA’s seventh in the lopsided win over the Czechs. Dvorak finished with two shots on goal and MacInnis took four shots on goal.

Team USA next plays Russia on Jan. 4 vs. in the semifinals.

Finland 6, Canada 5

Dylan Strome scored Canada’s second goal at 10:59 of the first period. He finished with a game-high eight shots on goal. Brendan Perlini took one shot on goal.

With the loss, Team Canada was eliminated.

Sweden 6, Slovakia 0

Jens Looke notched one goal and one assist in Sweden’s lopsided win. Anton Karlsson played on Sweden’s fourth line.
Goalie Erik Kallgren did not dress for this game.

Team Sweden next plays on Jan. 4 vs. Finland in the semifinals.
