COYOTES AT THE WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Seven Coyotes prospects are participating at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship in Helsinki, Finland. They are: forwards Brendan Perlini and Dylan Strome for Canada; forwards Christian Dvorak and Ryan MacInnis for USA; and goalie Erik Kallgren and forwards Anton Karlsson and Jens Looke for Sweden.

GAMES PLAYED ON DEC. 31

USA 4, Denmark 1

Ryan MacInnis took two shots on goal and Christian Dvorak took one shot for Team USA, which rallied from a 1-0 deficit to win and finish second in Group A.

Neither player factored in the scoring vs. Denmark.

Team USA next plays on Jan. 2 vs. in the quarterfinals.

Sweden 5, Canada 2

Anton Karlsson scored Sweden’s fourth goal at 7:09 for the third period and Jens Looke assisted. Both players took two shots on goal for Sweden, which won the Group A title.

Goalie Erik Kallgren was the backup for Sweden but did not play.

Team Sweden next plays on Jan. 2 vs. Slovakia in the quarterfinals.

Dylan Strome assisted on Canada’s second goal at 14:10 of the third period. He finished with two shots on goal. Brendan Perlini took one shot on goal.

Team Canada next plays on Jan. 2 vs. Finland in the quarterfinals.
