COYOTES AT THE WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Seven Coyotes prospects are participating at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship in Helsinki, Finland. They are: forwards Brendan Perlini and Dylan Strome for Canada; forwards Christian Dvorak and Ryan MacInnis for USA; and goalie Erik Kallgren and forwards Anton Karlsson and Jens Looke for Sweden.

GAMES PLAYED ON DEC. 29

Canada 3, Switzerland 2 (SO)

Dylan Strome scored Canada’s first goal at 19:37 of the first period, and co-led the Canadians with five shots on goal. He also was the first Canadian to take a shot in the shootout, but he did not score.

Strome is co-leading all players with three goals in three games at this tournament. Russian Alexander Polunin also has scored three goals in three games.

Brendan Perlini also played for Canada. He took three shots on goal but did not factor in the scoring vs. Switzerland.
