Coyotes at IIHF World Championship: Gold Medal Game

by Staff Writer / Arizona Coyotes

Canada 2, Finland 0

Connor McDavid and Matt Duchene scored goals, and Cam Talbot was perfect in the Canadian goal, although he had to stop only 16 shots for the shutout victory.

It was a tactical and strategic game that lacked the end-to-end action both teams displayed throughout the tournament, but Canada was intent on doing the things it failed to do in the round robin when the Finns won in convincing 4-0 fashion.

Coyotes forward Max Domi played 2:59 and again won gold playing for his country. In 2015, he won a gold medal with Canada at the World Junior Championship and in 2013 he won a gold medal with Canada at the U18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
