Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced that the Coyotes have assigned left wing Brett MacLean to the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). There are now 50 players remaining in camp.

MacLean was selected by the Coyotes in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.  The 18-year-old MacLean, who recorded 47 goals, 53 assists, 100 points and 43 penalty minutes (PIM) in 68 games for the Generals in 2006-07, will return for his third season with Oshawa.
