GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Arizona Coyotes announced today that the club has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with Sense Arena. Sense Arena is an off-ice virtual reality training platform that improves players' "Read & React" cognitive capabilities. Sense Arena's equipment is currently being used by both the Coyotes and Tucson Roadrunners players for off-ice training. As part of the partnership, Sense Arena will be designated as the Cognitive Training Partner of the Arizona Coyotes. Sense Arena will provide equipment to integrate into the Coyotes performance training and youth hockey initiatives.
"We are thrilled to welcome Sense Arena as our cognitive training partner," said Coyotes President & CEO Xavier A. Gutierrez. "This is an example of leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovation to help us win on the ice while protecting our players off the ice. This partnership will also allow us to uniquely demonstrate their state-of-the-art virtual reality technology to our fans and youth hockey programs."
"Sense Arena has been dedicated to the cognitive development and rehabilitation of athletes for several years now," said Bob Tetiva, Founder & CEO of Sense Arena. "The fact that the Coyotes Training and Performance staff adopted Sense Arena for the benefit of their players is something we take very seriously, and it validates our approach on how off ice cognitive training will lead to on-ice performance improvement and safe return to play. While we are formally announcing our partnership today, we have been working with the sports performance team for several months and we know they will continue to use and push our solution for the benefit of the team. The Coyotes will be a great partner in developing cognitive performance. With our combined visions, we will together make cognitive training more accessible and valuable to more players and programs and help the cognitive side of the game throughout the region."
