Coyotes Announce 2019-20 Schedule

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - The Arizona Coyotes announced today their schedule for the 2019-20 National Hockey League regular season. The Coyotes will play a total of 82 regular season games (41 home and 41 away), as well as seven preseason games (two home and five away). The Coyotes will open their 24th year in the Valley of the Sun on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Honda Center against Ryan Getzlaf, John Gibson and the Anaheim Ducks. Arizona will host Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak and the 2019 Eastern Conference Champion Boston Bruins on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the home opener.

START TIMES
The start time for most weeknight home games will be 7:00 p.m. The team will play five weeknight home games with 7:30 p.m. start times including Nov. 27 vs. Anaheim, Dec. 19 vs. Minnesota, Jan. 30 vs. Los Angeles, Mar. 12 vs. Vancouver and Mar. 20 vs. Detroit.
Most weekend home games at Gila River Arena will be played at 6:00 p.m. except for Oct. 19 vs. Ottawa (4:00 p.m.), Nov. 16 vs. Calgary (2:00 p.m.), Jan. 12 vs. Pittsburgh (4:00 p.m.), Feb. 15 vs. Washington (8:00 p.m.) and Apr. 4 vs. Winnipeg (1:00 p.m.).
SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN
The NHL's scheduling format will see the Coyotes play four games against Pacific Division rivals Anaheim, Calgary, Edmonton, Los Angeles, San Jose and Vancouver. Arizona will face Vegas five times for a total of 29 Pacific Division matchups. The Coyotes will face the remaining seven Western Conference teams three times each for a total of 21 games. In addition, the Coyotes will play each of the 16 Eastern Conference teams twice, once at home and once on the road.
Arizona's season-long home stand will be five games against Vancouver (Mar. 12), N.Y. Rangers (Mar. 14), Dallas (Mar. 16), Vegas (Mar. 18) and Detroit (Mar. 20). The team's longest road trips will each be four games: Oct. 22-28, Dec. 3-8 and Feb. 8-13.
The Coyotes will once again host every original six team in Glendale: Boston (Oct. 5), Montreal (Oct. 30), Toronto (Nov. 21), Chicago (Dec. 12 & Feb. 1), N.Y. Rangers (Mar. 14) and Detroit (Mar. 20).
Arizona's busiest month will be November with 16 games (9 home and 7 road). The 2019-20 schedule contains 13 back to back sets.
PRESEASON SCHEDULE
The Coyotes will begin their seven-game preseason schedule on Sunday, September 15 against the Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena. Arizona will then face the Kings in a split-squad matchup on Sept. 17. The Coyotes return home to host the Ducks on Saturday, Sept. 21. Admission to both Coyotes home preseason games on Sept. 17 and 21 will be free for all first responders, service members and kids 14 and under. Arizona will conclude its preseason with a three-game road trip to play the Oilers (Sept. 24), Canucks (Sept. 26) and the Ducks (Sept. 28).
ALL-STAR BREAK
The Coyotes will break for the 2020 NHL All-Star Game from Jan. 24-26. The midseason showcase will be held Jan. 26 in St. Louis, Missouri at Enterprise Center.
BYE WEEK
Arizona will take its bye week from Jan. 19-23 when the team will have five days off.
