COYOTES ANNOUNCE 2007-08 TRAINING CAMP ROSTER AND SCHEDULE

The Phoenix Coyotes announced that the team’s 2007-08 Training Camp will open on Thursday, Sept. 13 at Jobing.com Arena when players report to camp to receive medical examinations and fitness testing. The Coyotes first on-ice training session will take place at Jobing.com Arena from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14. Training camp will last 21 days with the NHL regular season beginning on Oct. 4.

 
The team will practice on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. before flying to Anaheim for the team’s first preseason game versus the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, Sept. 16.  The Coyotes will be back on the ice at Jobing.com Arena the following morning to practice from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. before hosting the Colorado Avalanche at 7:00 p.m. in the first of three home preseason games. 
 
The Coyotes will play a preseason game at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba for the second consecutive year when they square off with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday, Sept. 19.  The team faces the Maple Leafs again the following night at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto before returning home to play the Dallas Stars on Saturday, Sept. 22. 
 
Following two practice days at Jobing.com Arena, the Coyotes will complete the home portion of their preseason schedule with a game against the Edmonton Oilers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25.  After a game at Dallas on Thursday, Sept. 27, the Coyotes will close out the preseason with a game at Colorado on Saturday. Sept. 29.  The final practice of training camp will take place from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Jobing.com Arena.
 
All Coyotes practices will be held at Jobing.com Arena or the Ice Den in Scottsdale and all practices are open to the public.
 
In total, 54 players have been invited to attend the Coyotes’ training camp. The roster must be trimmed to 23 players by Opening Night. Unlike other major professional sports, there is no mandatory schedule for making roster cuts.
 
The Coyotes’ complete training camp roster and schedule is attached. Please note that the Coyotes’ practice schedule is subject to change.
