CLUB TO HOST NEW YORK ISLANDERS IN SEASON OPENER ON OCT. 5

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes President and Chief Operating Officer Douglas Moss announced today the Coyotes' regular season schedule for the 2006-07 National Hockey League season.  The Coyotes will play a total of 82 games (41 home, 41 away) in 2006-07.  The team will kick off the regular season by hosting the New York Islanders at Glendale Arena on Oct. 5 and conclude the campaign at home against the Vancouver Canucks on Apr. 8.

Game time for 39 of the Coyotes' 41 home games at Glendale Arena in 2006-07 will be 7:00 p.m.  Additionally, the Coyotes will host a Martin Luther King Day matinee on Jan. 15 versus St. Louis which will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the Coyotes' season finale on Sunday, Apr. 8 will have a start time of 2:00 p.m.

SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN
The Coyotes, who play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference, will meet their division rivals (Anaheim, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Jose) eight times throughout the season (4 home games and 4 away games).  All other Western Conference opponents (teams from the Northwest and Central Divisions, including Colorado and Detroit) will face the Coyotes four times each (2 home and 2 away).  From the Eastern Conference, the Coyotes will host each team from the Atlantic Division (Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York Islanders, New York Rangers and Pittsburgh) at Glendale Arena once during the season. The Coyotes will also visit each city of teams in the Southeast Division (Atlanta, Carolina, Florida, Tampa Bay, Washington) one time each.  The Coyotes will not play any games against teams from the Northeast Division (Boston, Buffalo, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto) this season.

The Coyotes will host a pair of five-game home stands (Nov. 4-16 and Mar. 8-17) in 2006-07, their longest of the season.  The team will begin the new year of 2007 with a five-game road trip, the longest road trip of the campaign (Jan. 1-9).  The 2007 NHL All-Star Game will be played at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Jan. 24 as the Coyotes will have a break between their games on Jan. 20 at Los Angeles and Jan. 26 at Colorado.
