GLENDALE, ARIZ. --- The Phoenix Coyotes today announced that on Monday, November 8, various members of the Coyotes Alumni and NHL alumni will square off against the coaches from the Coyotes Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) in a charity game at the Ice Den in Scottsdale.
This will be the second of five charity games with local youth hockey organizations. The first, at Oceanside Ice Arena in Tempe, raised more than $4,000 for the Desert Youth Hockey Association (DYHA). The goal of the Alumni charity games is to raise awareness for youth hockey in the Valley and for participating organizations to raise money through an entertaining event that will allow kids to watch their coaches play against former NHL greats.
“Our alumni are a great community asset and our goal is to get them out at events as much as we possibly can,” said Coyotes VP of Marketing and Communications Jim Brewer. “Partnering with organizations like the DYHA and CAHA to help them raise money to grow youth hockey is simply a win-win for all of us.”
Fans who purchase a ticket to the alumni game will also receive a discount ticket offer for upcoming Coyotes home games on November 12 and 13 against Calgary and Edmonton, respectively. There will also be a silent auction featuring items donated by the Coyotes Alumni, the Phoenix Coyotes, and local businesses. All Alumni game ticket sales and proceeds from the silent auction benefit CAHA.
Prior to the Alumni game, 18 degrees neighborhood grill, adjacent to the Ice Den, will be having food and drink specials and an unofficial viewing party of the Coyotes vs. Red Wings game on their 20 HDTVs. The viewing party begins at 5 p.m., with the alumni game starting at 7 p.m.
To purchase tickets in advance please call the Ice Den at (480) 473-5811. For more information on Coyotes Alumni appearances, contact Coyotes Community Relations Coordinator Kevin West at (623) 772-3464.
