GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have acquired a 2022 first round draft choice, a conditional 2024 third round draft choice and defenseman Conor Timmins from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for goaltender Darcy Kuemper.

"Darcy is a tremendous goaltender and a great person," said Armstrong. "We appreciate everything that he did for our organization the past four seasons and wish him all the best in the future."
The 22-year-old Timmins registered 0-7-7 with eight penalty minutes (PIM) in 31 games with the Avalanche in 2020-21. He also played in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff contests with Colorado this season and had 1-3-4 with four PIM in six games with the Colorado Eagles (AHL).
"We are very pleased to acquire Conor," said Armstrong. "He is a talented young defenseman and we are excited to add him to our blueline."
The St. Catharines, ON native has totaled 0-7-7 and eight PIM in 33 career NHL games as well as 4-27-31 and 42 PIM in 46 career AHL appearances.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound defenseman played for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL) from 2015-18. He posted 19-96-115, a plus-98 rating and 132 PIM in 163 games with the Greyhounds.
Timmins represented Canada at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship and registered 1-4-5 in seven games to help his country win the gold medal.
He was originally drafted by Colorado in the second round (32nd overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Kuemper registered a 55-48-15 record with a 2.43 goals against average (GAA) and a .920 SV% in 121 games with the Coyotes.
