SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA -Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have acquired defenseman Patrik Nemeth, a 2025 second-round draft pick and a conditional 2026 second-round draft pick from the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Ty Emberson.

The 30-year-old Nemeth tallied 2-5-7 with 28 penalty minutes (PIM) in 63 regular-season games with the Rangers in 2021-22 and appeared in five playoff games during the team's postseason run.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound blueliner enters 2021-22 with 10-55-65 and 210 PIM over 429 career games with the Dallas Stars, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings and Rangers. The Stockholm, Sweden native set personal bests in goals (3; tied) and assists (12) in 2017-18 with the Avalanche. He also recorded 22:02 of average time on ice with Detroit in 2019-20.
Nemeth was drafted by the Stars in the second round (41st overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Emberson was drafted by the Coyotes in the third round (73rd overall) in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The defenseman registered 5-7-12 over 63 AHL games with the Roadrunners from 2020-22.
