Coyotes Acquire Gordon from Edmonton in Exchange for Korpikoski

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have acquired center Boyd Gordon from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Lauri Korpikoski.

The 31-year-old Gordon recorded 6-7-13 and 17 penalty minutes (PIM) in 68 games with the Oilers last season. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Unity, SK led Edmonton and ranked 11th in the NHL with a 55.9 face-off percentage (FO%) in 2014-15.
Gordon registered 12-25-37 in 123 games with the Coyotes from 2011-13. He was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals in the first round (17th overall) in the 2002 Entry Draft.
Korpikoski collected 6-15-21 with 12 PIM in 69 games with the Coyotes in 2014-15.
