COYOTES ACQUIRE 2ND ROUND DRAFT CHOICE IN 2008 FROM OTTAWA FOR SAPRYKIN AND 7TH ROUND DRAFT CHOICE IN 2007

Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have acquired a 2nd round draft choice in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for left wing Oleg Saprykin and a 7th round draft choice in 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Saprykin, 26, registered 14-20-34 and 54 penalty minutes (PIM) in 59 games with Phoenix this season. In 2005-06, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Moscow, Russia played 67 games in his first season with the Coyotes, recording 11-14-25 and 50 PIM in 67 games.

In 7 seasons with Calgary and Phoenix, Saprykin has registered 54-81-135 and 236 PIM in 313 career games. Saprykin was selected by Calgary in the 1st round (11th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
