GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have acquired a 4th round draft choice in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for right wing Mike Johnson.
Last season, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound Johnson played 80 games for the Coyotes, collecting 16-38-54 and 50 penalty minutes.
In five seasons with the Coyotes, the 32-year-old native of Scarborough, Ontario appeared in 242 games, recording 47-112-159 and 139 penalty minutes. Johnson has played in 560 career NHL games with Toronto, Tampa Bay and Phoenix, registering 116-223-339 and 267 penalty minutes. He was not drafted but signed as a free agent with Toronto on March 16, 1997.
