Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun attended the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Miami Marlins baseball game in Florida on Thursday night.
Chychrun, who is from Boca Raton, Fla., is a baseball fan. He and his father, Jeff, arrived at the game early and were granted passes to watch both teams take batting practice from the field.
Chychrun's visit included a chat with Diamondbacks Manager Torey Luvollo and an on-field interview with Jody Jackson for FOX Sports Arizona. During the interview, Chychrun revealed that he played baseball during his youth and that the position he played was first base.
"I liked hitting and thought I had a pretty good bat," Chychrun told FOX Sports Arizona. "I really enjoyed it and I still miss it and love coming to the ballpark. It's just such a great lifestyle, and I would have loved to have played further on, but hockey is my No. 1 so I had to stay loyal to that."
Chychrun also visited a Diamondbacks game last season when he and fellow first-round draft pick Clayton Keller were invited to throw ceremonial first pitches at Chase Field.
