A couple of tough guys showed off their softer side on Wednesday as Coyotes’ Caravan continued its tour of the Valley with a trip to the Gila River Indian Community just south of Phoenix.

Forward Daniel Carcillo and defenseman David Hale shared the game of hockey with children at the Gila River Boys and Girls Club-Komatke. While the clinic taught the kids at the club all about the finer points of the game and sharpened their stick-handling skills, simply running around the gym alongside Carcillo and Hale had everyone howling by the end of the visit.

The pair also came with the Caravan to its stop at’s corporate offices in central Phoenix. Happy with their current jobs, of course, Carcillo and Hale were on hand to thank employees for their continued support of the Coyotes and their passion for helping people find employment they enjoy as much as the players enjoy theirs.

Two of the team’s biggest stars joined the Caravan on its evening stop at the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale as forward Olli Jokinen and defenseman Ed Jovanovski signed autographs for fans who made the trip to the Coyotes’ practice facility. Packed as usual with plenty of youth hockey players, these mites, squirts and peewees relished the opportunity to share a moment with a pair of professional players who hold a combined six NHL All-Star Game selections.

Come join Coyotes’ Caravan as it carries on Thursday as forwards Shane Doan and Todd Fedoruk will be signing autographs for fans at Polar Ice Chandler from 6 – 8 p.m.
