Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov is not in tonight's lineup against the New York Islanders because of an upper-body injury. Instead, he is flying back to Phoenix today for further examination.

Bryzgalov, the runner-up for the Vezina Trophy last season, last played vs. New Jersey on Wednesday night. He did not dress for Thursday's game vs. the New York Rangers. In 26 games this season, Bryzgalov has posted a 12-6-6 record and a 2.56 goals-against average.
"'Bryz' has an upper-body injury with day-to-day treatment, not week-to-week," Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney said. "We sent him back to Phoenix today so he could rest Sunday and see our doctors on Monday. We expect him to rejoin the team for practice on Tuesday."Jason LaBarbera
(2-3-1, 3.02 goals-against average) has temporarily moved from the role of backup goalie to starting goalie until Bryzgalov returns. Matt Climie, whom the Coyotes recalled from the American Hockey League on Friday, will be the backup for now.
